Supplies
Know what’s left,
before it runs out.
Tell AlongWell how much of a medicine you have at home and it counts down with every dose marked taken, including doses marked on WhatsApp. Supplies shows how long each medicine lasts and the date it runs out, with a heads-up on the screen as that day nears. When it’s time to buy more, it makes an order slip to send to the pharmacy.

Metformin 500 mg runs out on Sunday, Sep 13. 5 tablets left.
How to set it up
Three steps.
Open Supplies
Each medicine in the family appears there, with Add beside any you haven’t counted yet.
Count what’s at home
Type how many tablets or capsules you have, how full a tube or bottle is, or the number on an inhaler.
Let it count down
Each dose marked taken comes off. When something runs low, make an order slip and share it.
One count for the family
Each medicine has one supply, shared by everyone in the family who takes it. A dose marked taken comes off the count, whether it was marked in the app or by a WhatsApp reply. A skipped dose doesn’t, and unticking a dose puts it back.
Tablets, tubes, pens and inhalers
Supplies counts each kind of medicine the way you’d check it at home:
- Tablets, capsules, sachets and patches by number
- Creams, syrups and drops by how full the tube or bottle is
- Injection pens by the units left, plus unopened pens
- Inhalers by the number on the counter
How long will it last?
From the schedule, Supplies works out how long each medicine lasts and the date it runs out, allowing for courses and pauses. Each row shows how often it’s taken, such as “2 a day”. As a run-out date comes near, a heads-up appears at the top of Supplies.
An order slip for the pharmacy
Make an order slip and Supplies ticks everything running out within the month, with a month’s quantity of each. Adjust the amounts, add a note for the pharmacist, and share it on WhatsApp, by message or any way your phone can. It’s a shopping list, not a prescription, and AlongWell doesn’t place the order.
Questions
How do I keep track of medicine stock at home?
Count each medicine once in AlongWell’s Supplies. After that the app takes off every dose marked taken and shows how long each medicine lasts and the date it runs out.
Does AlongWell order medicines for me?
No. AlongWell makes an order slip with what’s running low and a month’s quantity of each. You share it with your pharmacy however you like.
Do doses marked on WhatsApp come off the count?
Yes. A dose marked taken by a WhatsApp reply comes off the supply just like one marked in the app.
